Well I guess ive proven how brilliant I am as a blogger. The sad fact is I was like this when I actually had to write with a pen and paper in what used to be called a diary. I always started with good intentions and then slowley what started as daily entries became weekly updates then monthly recaps of the important bits. After kids i lost time all together and started taking photos that never make it to albums or blogs......im sensing a pattern here.
So with that in mind I have decided to change that.. I am going to write more. Not everyday cause trust me my life is not that exciting but I thought i'd steal ideas from other blogs I read on a daily basis. Things like Thankful Thursday, foto friday that sort of thing...
Lets kick start this new me with what I am thankful for this thursday
I am thankful that this morning the good Lord saw fit to allow me to wake up and enjoy another day. I am thankful that my kids are healthy and whole and able to articulate their grieviances so majestically. I am thankful that I have a husband who can light my fire everyday and keep me warm (mind out of gutters people I literally mean a fire)
I am thankful that with all the troubles in the world I am able to put food on our table without thinking about how I 'm going to do it tomorrow. I am thankful that in every sense of the word I am Blessed.

I may just shock you all and post a foto friday tomorrow... I do actually have one in mind.... we will see.

OH Winter
how i dont like you much.
Everyone who knows me knows that i LOVE Summer. its the only time of year that i feel really alive. Winter unfortunately chills me to the bones and i cant do anything to warm myself up. Even with heaters, and multiple jumpers. My ideal way to spend winter would be to snuggle up in my bed with my books, a tv and my music. I would only get up to shower and use the toilet. All my food and drinks of course would be brought by the wonderful genie that i would have pop up when i needed them. I would in essence be like the bear... i would hibernate. Curled up in my bed with the wind and rain doing its best to chill me but alas im not a bear - though sometimes i might growl like one - so i get up in freezing temps and get the kids ready and wrap my self in about three layers and get on with daily life. I do the dishes instead of sticking them in the dishwasher just so i can stick my hands in boiling hot water. I practically sit on the fire and i live in my ugg boots (dont judge they are the best things in the world plus i dont wear them out) Though on a side note i saw a girl of about 18 on sunday at our small shops in her pyjama bottoms and ugg boots at 10.30 in the morning NOW COME ON !!!! what is that about?? I may have been freezing and not showered at times and ive looked like death warmed up BUT at least ive changed into my trackies at least. seriously. dont they have mothers?
Anyway..... so here i sit FOUR days into winter (so im told) freezing my butt off and wishing for an early spring and summer. I wish there was a switch or that i was rich enough to follow the sun. Ahhhh to dream

my weekend
Ok Folks, as you can see i have been seriously slack. So i thought id give you a run down of my sooo exciting weekend (insert sarcasm) . it wasnt to bad. i took the kids for a walk while James was with a client. we saw some horses and of course the kids started straight in with the 'we want one' song. Had to explain the costs and responsibilities... brought back happy memories of my own horse though. I did take pictures of the day but of course my computer usb port has snuffed it so i cant download any. Typical.
The kids then found the old home movies and watched HOURS of themselves... well the older two at any rate. I dont think i have much of Joel. I have loads of pictures of him just no video. Its ok though he doesnt feel hard done by... he thinks Dylan was him so two birds and one stone an all that.
Then Monday James managed to escape cold Perth for the nice weather of Darwin. It chose last night to have thunder and lightning which of course leads to one thing up here -- you guessed it POWER FAILURE. I didnt mind really but the boys did. so i put them to bed in MY bed and hoped that the power didnt come on before they were asleep but before I fell asleep.... I had plans people... I wanted to watch tv. In peace and Quiet. I got the peace and quiet...... sort of. thunder is loud.
I got my wish the boys fell asleep and the power came on 20 mins later. All was right in my little corner. Im Yawning my weekend was so exciting (theres the damn sarcasm again).
Well ive updated and i put my hand on my heart and promise to update on a regular basis. We'll see how that works shall we?
im off to make lunch for me and joel.
